Everything happens for a reason, or so I tell myself. That is the only explanation I have
for where I am today. Well that, intelligence, and a lot of luck. But I will start from the
beginning.
I was born in Oklahoma City, OK. My family moved to Plano,
Texas, a suburb of
Dallas, when I was six months old. I lived
in Plano all of my life. In school I was never considered
popular or pretty. In fact in elementary and middle school
I was teased, made fun of, and had very few friends. I guess
you could say I was an ugly duckling at that point. I went
to a high school with a little over 2,500 students. I was
quite a bookworm and just another face in the crowd. I
never played any sports, never was a cheerleader, but I
made good enough grades to get a four year scholarship
to LSU in Baton Rouge. Although I had lived next to Louisiana
all my life, I had never been there before. I had no friends
or family in Louisiana but I decided to go to LSU anyway.
And that is when everything changed.
Since I was five years old I had always wanted to be a veterinarian. In undergrad I studied
animal science with plans to go to veterinary school. When I first came to college I went
from being a face in the crowd to someone who was noticed. I never understood why
because I hadn’t changed just my surroundings had. I made
friends easily and I went from
being extremely shy and quiet to being talkative and friendly over the course of my first
year. I had never received any attention growing up, so
naturally it went straight to my head that summer. Luckily
I managed to get my ego under control with some help
from my friends back home. In other words they put me
in m

y place. Once I began to gain some confidence I started
looking
into modeling. I worked at Hooters, modeled
swimwear, and bartended to pay my bills. I never had any
aspirations to be a professional model, but that is where
luck comes in.
In my second year of school one of my friends got this
flyer for a calendar try-out, so I sent my pictures in.
Well I got the job as one of the models and the
photographer and I became good friends. About two years
after the calendar he asked me if I would mind if he sent
some of my calendar pictures to Playboy’s College Girl
search. I laughed and said I had no problems with that. As it turned out they liked my
pictures and flew me to Atlanta one week later to shoot for the special edition. I was
miss LSU in the February 2001 issue of College Girls. They also used my pictures in the
May/June 2001 Book of Lingerie. I had been comfortable with myself and now I was
comfortable with the idea of modeling professionally. I started applying for jobs and
getting them. I did a cd cover, another issue of Playboy, and several promotions (Playboy,
Bacardi, Lucky Strikes, etc.). I fell in love with the way make-up, lights, clothes, and
photographers can transform anyone into someone totally different. I also loved talking
to people, so I enjoyed doing promotions as much as the print work. I guess after all
those years of not talking to people I was ready to talk to everyone. I was hooked.
In 2002 I graduated from veterinary school with a doctorate. I moved to Las Vegas with
my sister and practiced medicine at a small animal/exotics hospital. I also launched into a
career in modeling and became a Playboy Playmate, Miss August 2003. After that I did a
lot of promotional work for Playboy traveling all over the United States. I was the Rolling
Rock girl in 2004 and was part of Playboy’s 50th anniversary parties.

So speed up to the present, I moved to New York 2
years ago and am still practicing medicine and modeling.
I live there with my dog, Kobie. New York is quite
different from Texas where I grew up but I have
grown to like it very much. I learned to snowboard
this winter and don’t mind the cold so much. I have
found my niche in NY modeling and have gotten several
great jobs since moving here. I also found a great
practice to work at and love my coworkers. I still
live a sort split life between the two. I loved being
able to do two things in life that I love to so much.
Sometimes I think I must be the luckiest girl alive.
I sit back and wonder how did I manage to do this
and then I remember that “everything happens for
a reason.”
